Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-11-02
This policy explains how Aki Fukaku, an Australian software business ("we", "us"), handles personal information when you use Trending24: the website, the Telegram bot and channels. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
1. What we handle
- Website visits. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. To limit abuse of checkout and the email form we store a one-way hash of your IP address for a short time, not the address itself.
- Analytics. If enabled, we use PostHog to count page views and actions such as starting checkout. It keeps nothing on your device between visits, sets no cookies, and does not record sessions.
- Telegram bot. Your Telegram user ID, username and first name as Telegram provides them, your language, the sources and keywords you choose, and when we last sent you something. Keywords can reveal what you are interested in, so avoid putting personal details in them.
- Payments on the website. Stripe collects your payment details. We receive what we need to deliver and account for the purchase: your email address, the Stripe customer and subscription references, the plan, amount, date and status. We never receive your full card number or security code.
- Payments in Telegram. Telegram tells us the plan, amount in Stars, the payment reference and the status. We do not see your payment method.
- Email list. If you join the list for the daily brief: your email address, language and the page you signed up on. We are not sending this email yet; we will ask you to confirm before the first send, and every email will let you unsubscribe.
- Support. If you email us: your address and what you choose to include.
We do not collect the content of your Telegram chats beyond the messages you send to the bot, and we do not ask for your name, address or phone number.
2. Why we use it
- To run the Service and send you the alerts you chose (performing our contract with you).
- To take payment, keep accounting and tax records, and handle refunds and disputes (contract and legal obligation).
- To prevent fraud and abuse and keep the Service secure (legitimate interests).
- To understand which pages and features are used, in aggregate (legitimate interests).
- To send the daily brief, if you confirm you want it (consent).
3. Who we share it with
Only with service providers who process it for us, as needed:
- Cloudflare: hosting, database and security. Global data centres.
- Stripe: payment processing and fraud prevention. United States, Ireland and other Stripe locations.
- Telegram: delivering bot messages, and Stars payments.
- PostHog, if analytics is enabled: product analytics. United States.
- Our email provider, once the daily brief starts.
- Professional advisers and authorities where the law requires, for example for tax.
Topic summaries are written with AI models, but those models are given public news and trend data, not your personal information. These providers may be outside your country, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, and use recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.
4. How long we keep it
Transaction records: as long as Australian tax and accounting law requires, generally five years. Bot settings: while you use the bot, and removed on request. Email list entries: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Hashed IP counters: about a day. Hosting logs are kept only briefly by the provider.
5. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, or receive a copy in a portable format, as the law where you live allows. Email support@akifukaku.com with the subject "Privacy". We reply within 30 days and may need to verify your identity first. We keep information we are legally required to keep, such as transaction records, and will tell you when that applies. You can stop the bot at any time by blocking it.
6. Security and children
We use encrypted connections, limit who can access personal information, and rely on providers with established security programmes. No system is perfectly secure; if a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
The Service is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Changes, contact and complaints
We may update this policy and will post the new version here with a new date. Aki Fukaku, Australia: support@akifukaku.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or to the data protection authority where you live.
